Format
Games will be scored using traditional side-out scoring, first team to 8 points wins the game; STOP AT 8, there is no win by 2 point rule. Record scores for both teams at game end. Each team is allowed a single 1-minute time out per game if needed.
Each group of 5 players will play a total of 10 games each night. Each player will play with the other 4 group members twice for a total of 8 games and 2 byes. Players will follow the score sheet provided each night to know their rotation and record their scores.
Points are tracked for individual players and are cumulative for the six-week period. Places are determined by taking a player’s total points earned divided by their total points possible, rendering a point percentage.
Scoresheets must be checked and initialed by all participants at the end of the night.
Attendance & Substitutions
If you can’t make it for any reason, it is your responsibility to find a sub. There will be an approved list of substitute players that will be available to fill in if someone cannot make it. Only players from the approved subs list will be allowed to substitute. It is your responsibility to contact and secure a substitute if needed from that list. If you need further help finding a sub due to unavailability of preapproved subs, contact Eric Boyd and he will help find a sub. If you request help, you must accept the substitute choice. If you get a substitute to cover for you for a night, the score they achieve will not be your score. Instead, you will receive a score that is the average of the entire rung/group minus 5 points. This prevents players from being overly benefited or harmed if the sub performs drastically better or worse than the regular player. It also discourages “calling in a ringer”.
With League Night being each Monday, substitutions must be submitted to Eric Boyd by Saturday night. No call, no shows will result in players being removed from the league. The player will not be allowed to finish playing in any remaining weeks of League and will be permanently replaced by a sub. Players will find their own subs. If needed, the league director will help locate a sub. When a sub is found, the league director should be contacted so the sub can be added to the schedule.
